It’s personal…

Hello! This past Saturday, my husband David and I, welcomed our first grandchild. My daughter’s pregnancy had a couple of challenges so I looked forward to the day that she would be admitted to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center to deliver her baby. I was 100% confident that once she was at OSF with the expert team of doctors, nurses and everyone else involved, she’d be in very capable hands. And she was, Kaia was born at 6:18 p.m. on November 16.

Kaia had a bit of a heart murmur so an ECHO test was scheduled for this morning. Again, I didn’t fret because we have an incredible team of pediatric cardiologist at OSF Children’s Hospital, who can handle whatever issue she may have. Thankfully, Kaia’s little heart check out just fine and the extremely happy family went home around noon today.

Having complete confidence in the care that my baby and her baby would receive from our care team, gave me so much peace.

The support of our generous donors is why we have a first class, medical center filled with knowledgeable, caring doctors and nurses for not only adults, but the tiniest and most vulnerable patients.

THANK YOU for being our partner in children’s health. You never know when there’s a glitch in the plan of life and you need that peace of mind of having a hospital, just for children, right here in Central Illinois.

So today, I’m feeling even more blessed and grateful for OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois and all those who support it.
